Cafe Rayos sits quietly along New High Street in Ruabon, offering a straightforward, welcoming spot for anyone looking to start the day with a solid breakfast or settle in for a casual afternoon tea. This isn’t a place that trades on fancy flair; instead, it leans on fresh, well-prepared food and a clean, friendly atmosphere that locals appreciate.

The cafe is especially popular in the mornings for those seeking a hearty breakfast. Options like a traditional English breakfast or a festive bap make it clear that quality and portion size are key focuses here. The kitchen sticks to classic café fare with no shortcuts on ingredient quality, which shows in the meals locals repeatedly come back for. Those with a sweet tooth will find the afternoon tea cakes and wider cake selection hard to resist — ideal for a mid-afternoon break accompanied by a good cup of tea.

Visitors typically include locals on their way to work nearby or families dropping in on quieter weekends. The atmosphere feels clean and inviting, without the usual hustle of busier spots, making it a comfortable setting whether you’re grabbing a takeaway breakfast or sitting down for a more leisurely Sunday lunch at home via their takeaway service.

While the cafe doesn’t take card payments on site, it’s practical to know there’s a post office directly opposite where cash can be withdrawn if you come unprepared. Friendly and straightforward service complements the trustworthy food offering, creating a dependable neighborhood hub for those who live and work around Wayside.

The best time to visit is in the morning for a filling breakfast or early afternoon when the cakes are fresh and the pace slows down a bit. It’s a no-fuss spot that delivers what it promises: solid, no-nonsense food served with a smile.

Best place in the area for a good brekkie. They don't use cheap ingredients either which is always a bonus. Not badly priced and the cakes look amazing. Definitely recommend

Had a Sunday lunch takeaway/delivery today. It was simply gorgeous. Plenty of it and varied vegetables. Will definitely be ordering again.

Visited here today based on other Google reviews whilst doing a job in the area. Other reviews mention food quality and affordability. I made a phone order of a sausage and bacon muffin and a cup of tea. I asked about payment and was advised I could pay by cash or bank transfer however they do not have a card reader. (There is a post office directly facing where you can withdraw cash at the counter which is what I did) I arrived at the cafe approximately 5 minutes later and was greeted by some very friendly staff. My order was already prepared waiting for me. Firstly I want to talk about the quality. This was an absolutely delicious sandwich. Hands down one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. A thick rasher of bacon cooked perfectly. A couple of beautiful chipolata style sausages with great flavour. Served on a nice fresh soft muffin. Honestly it was perfect in terms of quality. Absolutely superb. It was maybe a little on the small side I demolished it in literally 5 bites and I was absolutely craving more. My cup of tea was also pretty decent. Now I do need to mention this was the most expensive breakfast butty and brew I've ever ordered. £6.20 to be exact. £6.20 for a butty and a brew... Other reviews mention affordability I'm not sure I could justify spending £31 a week on a butty and a brew on the way to work every morning. £4.50 for a butty and £1.70 for a tea is not something I am familliar with. I don't know the Welsh economy and absolutely appreciate the cost of living and general inflation in 2024 but the average cost of a butty and a brew like this in Manchester is £4-5 maximum. And the sandwiches are usually a little bigger. Maybe I'm being tight but for a working class lad I'd suggest that is very expensive. Did it put me off? Absolutely not. I couldn't afford it every day but for a nice weekend treat whilst in the area I would absolutely return for the same order or a full cooked breakfast. Quality 10/10 Quantity 7/10 Value for money 8/10 Staff 10/10 A great cafe well worth a visit! I'll be back :)

We ordered a buffet for 70 people from Cafe Rayos for our wedding night party. I was so pleased I decided to use Cafe Rayos, they were brilliant with communication, understood exactly what I was looking for, brilliant price and the food was absolutely amazing! So tasty and great selection. Everyone at my party was commenting on how good the buffet was! They also arrived at the time we had agreed, even though my party was out of the area they normally cater for. I would 100% use again! Thank you so much!
